It was chilly outside.
The sun was just about to set. Our car was broke and we had to reach back to the hotel. I decided to take the nearest metro station. Being a Mumbaikar, I was not used to the lower temperatures. So I quickly ran to the metro station, bought a ticket and was checking the schedule. I was continuously fidgeting with my nose since it was acting weird in the cold weather. Just then a different aroma struck me and I turned around to see a couple at the coffee vending machine. The machine was from the famous coffee brand in India- 'Bru'. Though I have never had coffee, I thought of giving it a try. The weather and my senses both agreed to this thought. The machine was new and didn't have many options. So I tried the 'Cappuccino' one as the name sounded a little funny. The first sip of it stimulated my cold taste buds and quenched my thirst for something hot. The 'Instant' coffee powder made me fall in love with the coffee instantly :) For the next 4 days of our stay in Delhi, I was hooked to it.

It was chilly outside.
The winds were strong. The lockdown situation due to the COVID-19 virus was making everyone go crazy in all the possible ways. Lots of creative ideas were going around on social media. My Facebook and Instagram friends from India were posting pictures of the 'Dalogna Coffee'. I was chatting about it jokingly with my friend when he reminded me of the famous South Indian 'Filter Coffee'. That's when it occurred to me that from my recent trip to India, I had brought the 'Dabarah' (steel tumbler set) and some 'Bru' instant coffee powder. In the next 10 minutes, I was ready to click a photo of the coffee and send it to my friend. That was really quick because I wanted to relish every sip of it and also brew the memories of this drink. The 1st sip took me 16 years back at the Delhi metro station. The only difference was I was enjoying the weather now.
Coffee has only been an occasional beverage until I came to Germany. It was the cold weather, variety of coffee options, friends and the beautiful cafes here that reinforced coffee from being occasional to regular!
